Incremental moves and changes make a big difference in improving your habits. the British biking team was training hard to approve their performance but not succeeding at it until a paradigm shift occurred. the new coach was hired. His name was, sir David Brelsford. He is a British cycling coach and performance Director. He had an idea he called “the aggregation of marginal gains”. it was defined as one percent improvement in everything that they do . they actually won the Tour de France in three years and then one again, and next year. you just need to learn to do the sustainable thing the small thing the reasonable thing consistently. Greatness is consistency . Consistency is greatness.
you can often surprise yourself with the results you get if you’re just improving in a small way every day after a year has gone by.
every result you get is a lagging measure of your habits.
your physical fitness is a lagging measure of your habits. Your productivity is a lagging measure of your prioritization habits. The clutter in your living room or around your office is lagging measure of your cleanliness habits.
so often in life what we want are better outcomes in life and we focus on the results but ironically, the habits have to change to fix the outputs the habits proceed the results in your natural result you’re looking for. It’s always the accumulation of many effort and actions that get the results that you’re looking for. if you can master the habits, it won’t guarantee the results but it’s hard to find anything that will help you get the results. It’s better than that. The small changes will lead bigger results and better results.
fix the inputs and the outputs fix themselves.
start small.
small steps, make a big impact.
it takes more than just grit and willpower to achieve great things. The problem isn’t you if you’re struggling to improve the problem is your system.
there are many things influence habits, including willpower. That’s just one. The question is to ask what can I stick to even on my worst day. try to optimize the other factors so you need the least amount of Will power on your worst days.
Master the Art of showing up. Learn to build consistency.
When dreaming– when making plans think big. When executing things small.
